Sanskrit in New York City! New York Open Center, August 6th – 8th

Ah, New York City in August! The forecast is sweltering with occasional thunderstorms. Sounds like a perfect time to get indoors and immerse oneself in the sacred sounds of Sanskrit…

For the second time, I’ll be teaching a weekend at the New York Open Center, a mecca for all things holistically educational in NYC for the past 26 years. On Friday, August 6th, I’m teaching a three hour (7PM – 10PM) Introduction to Sanskrit Sound and pronunciation. On August 7th & 8th, I’ll be teaching a full introductory Sanskrit Training where we explore the sacred language of Yoga through delving into the Sanskrit alphabet using the classical “devanagari” characters, savoring their precise pronunciation and power.  These classes will be a lot of fun. No experience with Sanskrit is necessary to attend. In fact, the less experience, the better! 🙂

Information about both courses can be found here:

    Hello Mr Michaell,
Just a note to say I look forward to meeting you for your training this weekend. I work at The Open Center and think it’s great we are offering this. I like to draw sanskrit and make it into art.
